But be Warned.
Definitely Not for One for the Children!
D.I. Paul Munroe, whilst struggling with a reluctant divorce, is investigating a number of brutal murders, where women are tortured and raped. Strangely each victim is killed supposedly safe in their own home.
How is the killer easily gaining access? How are the victims chosen? And why is there so much misleading evidence, leading to wrongful arrests?
These are the questions Munroe must answer, whilst being pressurised by his superiors to find and arrest a suspect. At times it seems to Munroe that anyone will do, so long as there is a result. Inevitably Munroe and Luby's paths cross in various ways. But what will the outcome be?

Excerpt from Spite!
Mark turned as he fell, just in time to see a grey wrinkled face and age soured eyes before him, suddenly staring at the unseen old lady he’d walked into. Her body entangled with his, the pair falling together. Mark regained his composure and balance at the expense of the old lady, pushing hard against her frail body for balance. The old lady flew back, staggering unsteadily, legs wobbling, before collapsing hard onto the pavement with a cry and deep groan.
Mark recovered with a wobble and regarded the fallen old lady like litter. He looked down at her with no apology, only contempt for her error. Straightening himself and brushing his jacket, he walked away, casting only a secondary sideways look at the fallen lady, shaking his head, audibly tutting.
Silly cow! She should have been watching where ‘he’ was going.
Excerpt from Luby
The collective sound of window production machinery resonated around the factory; the hiss of compressed air blending into the background noise, as countless, mindless automaton workers stared at equally mindless machinery.
‘Primates. Mindless creatures that simply existed. Pathetic!’
My eyes drifted from one primate to another, shaking my head internally, disgusted by the pathetic, lowly specimens.
They didn’t know why they worked each day; they just did. Performing a simple function; serving a purpose.
Conditioned response. Nothing else. Mere moving vegetables.
The primates operated like the machinery. Programmed to do the same mundane function each day without question.
They performed tasks a chimpanzee could do.
However, cruelty laws forbid the use of animals to do such mundane tasks. Humans it seems were exempt.
